BOHS P402 BUILDING SURVEYS & BULK SAMPLING FOR ASBESTOS

Aims and Objectives:
This proficiency level course provides a range of theory and practical knowledge for those wishing to undertake asbestos building surveys. This qualification is useful for both experienced and relative newcomers to asbestos surveying as proof of a basic knowledge base.
The P402 is also a great tool for those persons responsible for asbestos management and asbestos re-inspections who may not have a wealth of experience in the asbestos industry.

Course content: 
- What is asbestos? 
- Health effects. 
- Legislation _ Asbestos and Non-Asbestos. 
- Asbestos in buildings. 
- Surveys and management of asbestos in buildings. 
- General guidance on management procedures necessary to minimise exposure to identified asbestos.

Practical sessions will guide delegates through the various bulk sampling techniques employed during asbestos surveying before conducting a full practice survey within the testing facilities.

The course culminates in a 1hr 15min exam on the final day which is formulated and administrated by BOHS as well as a practical assessment by an independent assessor.

Following successful completion of the course, two Type 2 or Type 3 asbestos surveys undertaken by the candidate, must be submitted prior to obtaining the certification.
