Personal effectiveness can be defined as a distinct set of behavioural competencies which are a group of skills embedded within all work-related activity. Being the Best relates to the behavioural aspects of the internationally recognised MCI Standards of Management Competence.

You, as a manager, must know your own strengths, and maximise them, and identify your weaknesses and learn how to overcome them. Your personal success is probably measured by your own productivity. This course will focus on those areas where you can personally improve your effectiveness.

Course Objectives:
This course will provide you with the skills, methods, and techniques you require to work effectively and confidently with your colleagues, clients and managers. To develop your priorities in the development of personal competencies including all aspects of communication skills.

What skills will the delegate gain?
This course will enable delegates to: 
- Identify how people work and to improve their effectiveness both individually and in a team. 
- Develop and improve their assertiveness with others.

Course Content:
- Effective working
- Contribution to a team, behaviour categories, ego states, life positions.
- Assertiveness techniques
- Assertiveness, behaviour and skills. Dealing with people constructively. Handling conflict.
- Managing time
- Time stealers, time savers, goals and key areas, delegation, identifying the cause of problems.
- Problem solving
- Problem analysis and decision making, collecting information, identifying the cause of problems.
- Communication
- Types of communication, barriers, how to make suggestions and get action. Written, spoken and non verbal communication.
- Practical session

Each of these areas is examined and practised. Delegates are encouraged to develop their own personal action plans to help them to work in a more productive and professional manner.
