Overview:
The course will discuss the basic care and management of a patient/client with epilepsy within the health care sector. It will enhance awareness and provide the learners with the fundamental information they require within their area of work. Although power point presentations will be used, learning will also be facilitated, thus ensuring participation and self-directed learning. The course is suitable for any personnel working in the health care sector that have not received any previous epilepsy awareness training.

Course Objectives:
The learners will be able to:
- Identify the basic treatment of epilepsy
- Discuss the basic fundamental management of an epileptic seizure
- Identify safety measure at home
- Have an understanding of the holistic needs of a patient/client with epilepsy
- Discuss how you can be prepared
