Course Description
Designed specifically for those with previous experience of auditing management systems relating to environment, quality and health and safety, this intensive one day course focuses on the knowledge and skills required to extend existing auditing skills into the realm of managing events for sustainability. Not only does the course provide an introduction to the concept of sustainability and the requirements of the BS 8901:2009 but also goes into the operational detail of how these relate directly to the processes involved in event management.

The course structure incorporates interactive group work, discussions and presentations. An expert instructor directly involved in the current revision of the standard provides a detailed overview of the emerging BS 8900 series relating to all aspects of sustainable development, events and the certification / registration process.

-Individuals and managers directly involved in the auditing of BS 8901 systems with prior experience
-Those seeking to integrate auditing against BS 8901 with ISO 14001, ISO 9000 or OHSAS 18000

This course will enable you to:
-Undertake the design and delivery of an internal audit against the requirements of BS 8901:2009
-Follow through audit trails, identify discrepancies from performance and standard requirements, analyse the root cause of non-conformities and recommend corrective actions at the appropriate level of the system
-Identify the relationship between auditing BS 8901:2009 (sustainability for events) ISO 14001:2004 (environmental management), ISO 9000:2008 (quality management) and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 (Health & Safety management)
-Use practical steps for monitoring and measuring outputs at events
