Aim:
To provide delegates with an introduction to carrying out a health and safety audit and equip them to do so

Objectives:
Delegates will understand the nature and purpose of audits Delegates will be provided with information on relevant standards and management models Delegates will gain a detailed knowledge of HSG 65 Delegates will gain an understanding of the principles of auditing Delegates will be provided with guidance on the planning and execution of an effective health and safety management system audit Delegates will demonstrate their understanding of the issues covered by the course

Preparatory Work
Delegates should have access to copies of HSG 65 and BS EN ISO 19011: 2002, and have some knowledge of the content of these documents Delegates should have a good grounding in health and safety, to a minimum standard of the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety (or equivalent)

Additional Information
Delegates should bring copies of HSG 65 with them BS EN ISO 19011 provided on course The course concludes with a short closed book examination to test delegates’ understanding Delegates will undertake HSR exercise on return to work place.
