Description of the course
This one-day course starts by identifying the differences between assertive and non-assertive behaviours. Self-assessment tools are used to help delegates identify when and why they find it difficult to behave confidently and assertively.

The way people develop confidence is discussed and techniques to overcome doubts and fears and improve self-confidence are identified.

A range of assertive techniques are described in detail. Exercises, case studies, role play, discussions and tutor feedback are used to ensure delegates understand, and can work with, the various techniques taught.

Throughout the course delegate’s own situations are used to provide examples of how they can work with assertiveness and improve their confidence when dealing with others.
