The course is designed to provide the delegates with the theoretical and practical skills to be able to prepare slides and to perform fibre counting by PCOM for different fibre types.   To delegates will be able to demonstrate the ability to count a set of RICE slides to a satisfactory standard.

The course includes:
-Theory of phase contrast optical microscopy
-Requirements of MDHS 39/4
-Fibre definitions and counting rules (ERM and WHO rules)
-Microscope set-up, adjustment and checks
-Slide preparation techniques-RICE scheme and quality control
