AOD Handsignalling

This course allows the candidate to be appointed as a Hand Signal Man in order to assist in the movement of trains around the operational railway, under specified conditions.

The course is one day in duration and comprises of classroom based instruction, exercises, followed by written and practical assessments. Course limit is 8 candidates.

Pre-requisites for attendance
Must hold a valid track safety card with IWA or COSS competence.

Upon successful completion of the course, the candidate will receive a sentinel track safety card for two years.

After two years they will need to sit a one day recertification course ( not applicable to NWR staff).

This course can be delivered at our training centre or at the clients premises (subject to specific criteria being met in relation to the training venue, requirements as specified by Achilles).
