- To understand the requirements of Abrasive Wheel Safety and associated legislation. To show an understanding of the practical aspects of mounting and safe use of abrasive wheels.
- To build up an understanding of methods of training presentations to groups, its planning, implementation and evaluation.
- To be able to develop a training presentation session.
- To appreciate the range of training presentation media available and gain practice in their use.
- To be able to deliver an effective training presentation using a range of presentation aids and preparation.

Course Content:
- The requirements under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
- Issue and discussion of approval advisory literature.
- Hazards arising and precautions to take.
- Methods of marking abrasive wheels.
- Methods of storing, handling and transporting, inspection and testing
- The functions of abrasive wheel components. Balancing abrasive wheels.
- Proper methods of dressing abrasive wheels. The adjustment of rests.
- Building a two-way relationship with your audience.
- The need for effective communication skills and feedback in presentations.
- Methods of presentation - developing the presentation to suit the audience.
- Training Presentation Media; their purpose and use.
- Developing a lesson/ presentation plan, Preparation for presentation - presenting the right image.
- Presentation skills and techniques, Potential pitfalls of carrying out a presentation.
- Assessment – 20 minutes presentation
