Overview

Day 1 - Core Day

Will give delegates an understanding of: - the legal responsibilities of employers and employees, the role of enforcing authorities, what makes a vulnerable worker, hazard identification and control.

Sector Day

To build on the basic Health and Safety information Core Day programme by concentrating on risks specifically found in the Mineral Extraction and Products Industry

To understand the implications of risk of personal injury, cost to the business, job security, environment not properly considered

Target Group:

This course is suitable for contractors working in quarry sites.

Module 1: Organising for Safety
Module 2: The Workplace
Module 3: Tools, Plant and Machinery
Module 4: Health
Module 5: Procedures
Module 6: The Environment

Mineral Products Day (Sector Day)

• Danger Areas
• Mobile Plant
• Access and Working at Height
• Hazardous Operations
• Excavations and Confined Spaces
• Health Risks Working in Quarries
• Environmental Considerations

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course will gain an MPQC (Mineral Products Qualification Council) and SPA (Safety Pass Alliance) Card which is valid for 3 years.

Delegates also gain a Level 2 MPQC award in Understanding Safe Working for Contractors in Extractives and Building Products Industries Site (QCF).

The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
