Course Aims:

The Mental Health First Aid Two Day course teaches people to recognise the signs that someone may need support with their mental health and offer help on a first aid basis.

Would you know where to sign post a friend, colleague if they show signs and symptoms of a mental health illness? One in four people in the UK will have a mental health problem at some point. This can be a reaction to a difficult life event, such as bereavement, but can also be caused by work-related issues.

What you learn on the two-day course:

- What is Mental Health?
- Why people develop mental health conditions
- What the role of a mental health first aider is
- Knowing how to provide advice and practical support
- Knowing how to recognise and manage stress
- Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
- Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
- Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace
- Recognising a range of mental health conditions:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Psychosis
- Eating disorders
- Suicide
- Self-harm

The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
