Who Should Attend/ Objectives:

The objectives of this qualification is to allow an individual to meet a requirement set by law to undertake a specific role within the licensing trade. This includes individuals working in or preparing to work in any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on a licence premise must be hold a valid personal licence.

Course Contents:

- Nature and purpose and period validity of a personal licence
- Application process and legal duties when applying for a personal licence
- The legal duties of a Personal Licence holder
- The roles and responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities
- The nature and strengths of alcohol and the effect on the body
- Laws in relation to premises licence
- Legal aspects and responsibilities of both Personal Licence Holders and the local authorities
- How to promote and understand the roles and duties of a Designated Premises Supervisors
- Temporary Event notices
- Law relating to the safety of children within then the licensing sector.
